Established 10-31-2020 this, I purchased the yacht and started the refit of the boat.
Restoration photos from 2020-22. From fiberglass to teak I restored the yacht to original condition.
In this video: We're installing a solar system from scratch, mixing different components to get the system installed and running. I'm focused on getting the best deal on solar system parts and creating a custom solar panel system for my Catalina 30 Tall Rig that will get us on the water in style, off grid and at the lowest cost possible. Cindi's showing off too!
In this video: I complete the solar panel upgrade aboard SV Zanadu, a 1983 Catalina 30 sailboat, with the purpose of running my boat electrical system from a 4000 watt inverter, and having plenty of lithium battery power to run my boat appliances, air conditioner, air fryer, lights, tv and more... We've made seafood in the galley too boot!. Afterward we check out a Doobie brothers concert in Dallas, TX.
In this video: Ahoy mates! We're sailing... In this video we are sailing and having fun with guests aboard SV Zanadu on Lewisville Lake, TX during our 2024 Summer Meet Up event. We take 3 sailing cruises on the lake with new crew each time. Our friends learn about sailing and experience the sailing lifestyle with us.
In this video: We're back on Lewisville Lake, TX with another video! In this episode we give you a boat tour of SV Zanadu, a 1983 Catalina C-30 Tall Rig, from bow to stern, plus we take aboard some good friends as new crew for the first sail of the season after a few months of rain and flooding at the marina we are moored in.
In this video: We're tackling the teak by re-staining for the season. Tips for the process ae provided, and I explain why I choose to stain the teak on the boat instead of traditional polyurethane varnish. Brightwork has never been easier in my opinion, and all I have to do is oil it down with teak oil throughout the year. Check it out! We're also playing with our new paddleboard, and celebrate Father's Day with a feast on the boat. Argh!
In this video: As a storm threatens our already flooded marina, we get the necessary dock lines replaced to keep the boat in the marina safe. We've captured some drone footage initially, and go about our day! At the American Legion Post 88, we celebrate Memorial Day and get out on the town to dance the night away with Le Freak, a 70's disco type band at Chill in Lewisville, Tx. with friends.
